Does the thought of zombies and other mutated monsters plaguing the world excite you? If it came down to you defending yourself with the closest object, would you survive? If you were thrown into the Arizona desert with a zip gun, frying pan and a 2x4… Would you survive?

If you answered yes to those questions and love MMO’s, then Fallen Earth might be your next stop.

Fallen Earth is an MMO set in the human world. No Elves, No tights, No Space men. Just you, your gun, your friggin frying pan and lots of stuff that has the munchies for.... well, YOU. You will learn very quickly that you cannot take life’s simple pleasures for granted anymore. Good luck finding that ammo.

You start out as a level 40 player in the tutorial. Stuck in the Hoover Dam while some rogue faction is attacking it. You are being guided by some voice telling you to find her so you can escape. As you follow her directions, you start to learn about the game and controls. It plays like a hybrid FPS/RPG MMO which might have gotten it right this time (SWG NGE can suck my dick). As you proceed through the tutorial you get items which you will cry at the end when these are taken away (assault rifle). As far as a tutorial, it’s pretty good and teaches you pretty easily how to play.

Now this is a game that’s just released and I haven’t gotten a lot of time in it yet but I have to point out some obvious flaws.

Rubber Banding
o First and foremost; this is a MMO killer. If you are old like me and remember the early days of SWG they had this problem. You would run 15 feet just to be teleported back 10. It’s *NOT* this bad in FE but being a shooter… You CANNOT have Rubber Banding. I literally had mobs running at me, then teleport to my right and then to my left. Wasting so much ammo trying to hit air particles.

Hacking
o I would say this is and is not Icarus's fault. They need to secure their game. I have watch quite a few video’s of people speed hacking. I think hacks’ being in the game this early just opens all the wrong doors.

Dismounting
o This is more a personal opinion than a game breaking issue. I find the “mount” system to be kind of clunky. If you have seen any of the videos dismounting is complete shit. They need to have a feature for fast dismounting kind of like what we saw in GTA4. I will agree that there should be a downfall from jumping off your horse/atv before stopped but not have the option at all sucks

In closing, Fallen Earth looks like a solid MMO with great concepts. I think in time we will see a great game come of it. From what I have read, they have been on top of patching and getting issues resolved. I will defiantly keep an interest in this MMO and see where it goes from here.

I leave you with some pvp footage from Fallen Earth.

Rubberbanding - We are aware of the issue with rubberbanding and are devoting serious development resources to it.

Darkwolves History

The Darkwolves got their start in Diablo 2, atleast thats when I joined up with them.

Lead by Giantkiller and Darkwalker they wreaked havoc on USEAST and USWEST servers. After a long stay they moved from game to game.

As of now most old members have moved onto real life. What's left have been playing Aion.
