This article is about the origin, present state, and future plans for the Darkwolves.
A bit about the Legion: A former Diablo 2, Anarchy Online, DAoC and WoW guild, the Darkwolves have now come to Aion. The Legion was founded by two members, Tonoue (Legion Leader) and Koreanz. During the days of DAoC and WoW, the Darkwolves was known as a heavy griefer guild, both in plain sight and as sleepers. Lead by GiantKiller, the guild gained much notoriety for their actions from both player and GM alike, even to be interviewed by VideoGamer.com for their exploits across multiple games. Unfortunately, during WoW the Darkwolves had a falling out and most members left. The only remaining member of the original Darkwolves is Koreanz. Here are some of their videos: Ninja Skydiving Swim
Tonoue and Koreanz are RL co-workers that joined Aion during Closed Beta Event 2 and have been playing ever since. Newly reformed, the Aion Chapter of the Darkwolves is not a griefer guild. We are a casual guild that focuses on both PvP and PvE play, as well as helping members advance. Currrently, the Darkwolves Legion is a level 3 Legion with over 70 members. Many of our members come from a wide variety of other games, such as EQ, WoW, RF Online, DAoC, and EVE Online, but also many of our members are fresh to the MMO genre. Having been a guildleader in EQ and WoW, Tonoue intend to guide and mold the legion to be a heavy raiding guild in the Abyss. Update - 11-24-2009
In keeping with the Darkwolves tradition, a sister Legion was made - The Darkpuppies (rawr!). This legion was made, not only for Darkwolves members to have their alts, but for new unique members as well. I would like to see both Legion grow and work together. Unfortunately, there is no way (that I know of) to create a inter-Legion chat channel, so the two Legions can't talk to each other. Hopefully NCSoft will fix this soon.
A couple members have been found botting. They have been recorded doing this as proof and have been removed from the Legion. Botting will not be tolerated.
After much deliberation between myself and my officers, the following requirements for the legion have been established: - All members must register on the website within 2 weeks of joining the legion. - All members must have ventrillo installed and have legion vent settings installed. - All members are allowed 2 characters within the guild (one main and one alt), any additional character that wishes to join must be placed in the Darkpuppies Legion. This will open more space for more unique members. *As the Legion grows, all alts will have to be placed in the Darkpuppies to make room for main characters in the Darkwolves. - All members must log into their characters at least once a month. Any character not logged in within that time period will be removed from the Legion.
Only Legion General and Legion Officers have access to the Legion Warehouse. Requirements for becoming an Officer are to be determined. Updates will be posted as soon as possible. Update 01-06-2010
Happy New Year everyone.
Some things have changed with the Legion. First of all, Tonoue (Kaillia) has stepped down as Legion Leader. Koreanz (Bikethief) is now the Leader. The following changes have been made:
A level cap has been implemented for recruiting - Only those who are lvl 25+ will be able to join the Darkwolves. The Darkpuppies is not only an alt guild anymore, but a recruiting guild for all players level 1-24. When members of the Darkpuppies have reached level 25, they can now migrate to the main guild - the Darkwolves. There is an exception to this: - The Darkwolves is now a 1 main character only Legion. No alt characters. All alt character, even those over level 25 must stay in the Darkpuppies...or find another Legion.
The one month in-activity rule has been modified. It is now two weeks. If a member is in-active for more than two weeks, they will be removed from the Legion. The only exception to this rule is medical, personal, or financial with notice from the member and expected time of return. Meaning, if a member has a RL incident or reason that they will be in-active to more than two weeks, they must tell the Legion Leader or an officer using the forums e--mail system.
Legion Officers will now be chosen by the Legion itself. When a position for Officer opens up, an announcement will be made as well as a forum post where members can post their candidacy. This forum will be locked after two weeks and no more candidates will be accepted. A new forum post will then be made where all members can vote for their favorite candidate. The voting will be open for 1 week. After that period, the new Officer will be announced. Should there be a tie in votes, the final decision will be between the Legion Leader and the Officers. To be a candidate for Officer: - You must be online more than 3 times a week with more than 48 hours of gametime per week. - You must always be logged on to vent - You must be active in Legion chat - You must always be courteous and respectful to all members and non-members alike (an Officer is not only a role-model for the Legion, but a representative of the Legion to non-members) A breach of any of these requirements will result in termination of candidacy for Officer. **All candidates are under the watch of the Legion - if any member should witness a breach in any of these rules, they are to tell the Leader or an Officer immediately** |
